Resi Friedman Magaziner (Rahel)

Resi Friedman Magaziner1 was Henry Magaziner's first wife. She was born around 1842 in Varanno, Hungary (now Vranov, Slovakia), another town in the Zemplen Megye.2 Resi bore Henry two sons, Anthony and Jakob.3 Resi died on February 25, 1864.4

1. The name comes from Humenne Jewish birth registry entry for Jakob. Jakob's entry lists the mother's name as Resi Friedman. Anthony's has a "ditto"-like marking under the name Rasi or Rosi.
2. The Humenne Jewish death registry includes an entry for a Rahel Magaziner, married, born in Varanno, who died on February 25, 1864 at the age of 22. I believe this is the same woman as Anthony and Jakob's mother, Resi, because of the similarity of the names and because Rahel died between the birth of Jakob and the marriage of Henry and Cecelia; however, it is possible that this is a different woman.
3. Jakob's birth registry entry lists the mother's name as Resi Friedman. Anthony's has a "ditto"-like marking under the name Rasi or Rosi.
4. The Humenne Jewish death registry includes an entry for a Rahel Magaziner, married, who died on February 25, 1864.
