Sources
The following sources, among others, were used in compiling this family tree:
- Ancestry.com a general genealogy resource (requires paid subscription)
- JewishGen: The Home of Jewish Genealogy
(requires free registration)
- Family Search Record Search an extensive free genealogy resource
from the LDS Church. This site has an enormous collection of United States and International documents, all scanned, some
indexed, and the indexes are often better than Ancestry's.
- Yad Vashem
Shoah (Holocaust) Victims' Names Database
- Gen Team an index of Austrian records and some newspapers (requires free registration)
- MACSE, a Hungarian-language genealogy site that includes an index of 20th century Budapest birth, marriage,
death and name change registrations (requires registration with a small donation)
- Arcanum, a Hungarian site that has scanned and indexed an enormous amount of Hungarian materials,
including some newspapers, that have helped break down several brick walls in this site. Some of the better materials on that site are found in
the Arcanum Digiteca, which requires a small subscription fee to see the documents, but you can search to see if
there is anything useful without paying.
- Photographs of Humenne (Homonna) birth, marriage and death registries, by
Bobbie Furst (now indexed on JewishGen)
- Birth, marriage and death notices from various newspapers, including the
New York Times and Philadelphia's
Jewish Exponent and numerous newspapers found on
Genealogy Bank (requires paid subscription)
- Interment records and tombstones from various cemeteries, some found on Find a Grave
and some visited in person.
